Spring - gardening season!

I've been surrounded by plants and flowers lately which is a really good thing.  I've had a lot of flowers in the house, at the moment I have some beautiful orchids from my Aunt's garden and some of the most fragrant freesias from my Nan's garden.  I adore freesias, especially the ones that smell so beautiful.  I always seek them out over Spring if I haven't planted any myself.

I've planted some cute little pansies in my fence planter boxes and yesterday my friend Harvey came over and we got a whole lot of cheap pots and filled them with tomatoes, lettuces, spinach and strawberries.  I wanted basil too but couldn't find any.  I just have to get some mulch and those are done.  My japanese maple is full of gorgeous red leaves, hopefully it will put on a bit more growth this spring.

Lastly I was given the most gorgeous bonsai by my friend Judy.  It's a rhododendron and it's just the cutest little plant.  I have it inside on my coffee table and I think it's not far off flowering.  It's got a lot of new growth on it too.

Harvs and I went out for dinner last night then caught the New Zealand movie Boy at Cinema Europa.  We were 2 of 4 people in the whole cinema which was awesome.  The movie was lovely, it has a very unique style and I really enjoyed it.

My recovery seems to have plateaued and I've been waking up feeling revolting - it has been taking me hours to feel normal and like I want to do anything.  Not sure if I've been pushing myself too hard or if this is just normal.  Today I was meant to go back to the specialist but I didn't feel up to it so I cancelled my appointment.  I plan on doing absolutely nothing all day long.
